Wednesday saw the leaves turning
Like an internal Autumn finally begun.
A beautiful canopy of orange and brown
Fluttered before her eyes, shading the sun.
Too long had she lived only for Winter
And excuses to hide away.
A palette of grey, black and tainted white
Marked the dreariness of her days.
Suddenly, as the Springtime brings newness
She can see all she needs do is breathe.
The world’s a kaleidoscope of possibilities blue and green,
And she really can be more than she believes.
Emerging from a torturous Summer,
The sun’s rays now guide instead of blind
As she basks in shades of amber and yellow,
Self doubts fade as though scattered in wind.
